Hi Guys! Boy, to I have a super post for you today! On my latest road trip, we made a pit stop in Metropolis, Illinois, the home town of Superman! How could I just drive by without stopping and checking out the town.

While sporting my red cape, we made our way to the middle of town that was the hub of  all things Superman. As we round the corner the first thing I noticed was this mural of all the iconic actors that played Superman over the years. From right to left: Kirk Alyn, Brandon Routh, Christopher Reeve, Dean Cain, and George Reeves.

Who is your favorite Superman?

In the middle of town, next to city hall stands a 15-foot tall, two ton Superman statue. This is the largest Superman statue in the U.S. This Man of Steel in his bright blue suit, red cape and giant “S” was breath taking.

Did you know Superman has a dog?

Introduced on the cover of Adventure Comics #210 in March 1955, Krypo the Superdog made is first appearance. Krypo is Superman’s pet dog from the planet Krypton. Although his specific breed was never revealed, Krypo is depicted as a white dog who dawns the signature red cape and giant “S” emblem hanging from his gold dog collar.

What do you think, could I be the next Superdog???

In the main square is the Superman Museum where you can find over 20,000 collectible items. Among the items showcased in the museum from the iconic superhero’s 75+ year history are virtually every Superman toy ever produced as well as movie props and promotional materials from all the Superman movies & TV series and one of the only George Reeves Superman costumes still in existence.

Outside of the museum was a phone booth. Just like Superman, I needed to make a quick change into my super hero cape!
